4. Ownership of Interview Productions

4.1 Production Copyright

Unless a separate written agreement expressly states otherwise, the copyright and intellectual property rights in the production and creative work of interviews conducted and produced by DIY Business System belong to DIY Business System.

This includes the production itself, including:

Video recording;
Camera footage;
Edited video;
Audio recording;
Edited audio;
Photographs taken by the production team;
Interview photographs;
Video clips;
Short-form versions;
Reels;
Social media versions;
YouTube versions;
Promotional cuts;
Trailers;
Teasers;
Transcripts;
Subtitles;
Captions;
Graphics;
Thumbnails;
Intro and outro materials;
Editing work;
Post-production work; and
Other derivative production materials created from the interview.

DIY Business System retains the right to reproduce, edit, publish, distribute, communicate, display, promote, archive and otherwise use these production materials through appropriate media and platforms.

5. Interviewee Consent and Permission

By voluntarily participating in an interview, recording, photography session or other media production conducted by DIY Business System, the participant acknowledges and agrees that the interview or production may be recorded and published.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the participant grants DIY Business System permission to use:

Their name;
Voice;
Image;
Likeness;
Appearance;
Statements made during the interview;
Photographs;
Video footage;
Audio recordings; and
Other material voluntarily provided or recorded during the production.

Such materials may be used for editorial, informational, promotional, tourism, marketing and digital media purposes relating to BandarPenawar.com and DIY Business System.

This permission may include publication on:

BandarPenawar.com;
YouTube;
Facebook;
Instagram;
TikTok;
Other social media platforms;
Digital advertising;
Promotional campaigns;
Articles;
News or feature stories;

6. Interview Content and Editing

DIY Business System may edit interview recordings and other media content for:

Length;
Clarity;
Presentation;
Formatting;
Language;
Subtitles;
Audio quality;
Video quality;
Platform requirements; and
Promotional purposes.

Editing may include selecting portions of a longer interview, creating shorter clips, extracting photographs or audio segments, adding subtitles, graphics, music or other production elements.

We will endeavour not to intentionally alter the substantive meaning of an interview through misleading editing.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, statements made by an interviewee represent the interviewee’s own views and do not necessarily represent the views of BandarPenawar.com, DIY Business System, MITA, any government agency or any other organisation.

7. No Automatic Transfer of Copyright to Interviewees

Participation in an interview or media production does not automatically transfer ownership of the production copyright to the interviewee.

The interviewee does not acquire ownership of:

Camera footage;
Master video files;
Edited video;
Audio recordings;
Photographs taken by DIY Business System;
Edited photographs;
Production files;
Graphics;
Video edits;
Transcripts prepared by DIY Business System;
Promotional versions; or
Other production materials created by DIY Business System,

unless a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise.

The interviewee may request a copy or link to published material, but such access does not constitute a transfer of copyright or ownership.

8. Photographs and Video Footage

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, photographs and video footage captured by DIY Business System during tourism visits, business visits, interviews, events, site visits, productions or other activities are the intellectual property of DIY Business System or its relevant rights holder.

DIY Business System may use such materials for legitimate editorial, tourism, promotional, marketing and digital media purposes.

Third parties may not reproduce, modify, sell, redistribute or commercially exploit such materials without prior written permission.

9. Audio Recordings

Audio recordings created by DIY Business System, including interview recordings, voice recordings, podcasts, sound recordings and other original audio productions, are protected by copyright and related intellectual property rights.

Unless permission is granted in writing, such recordings may not be:

Reproduced;
Re-recorded;
Re-edited;
Republised;
Distributed;
Sold;
Uploaded to another platform; or
Used for commercial purposes.

10. Permission to Share Published Content

Visitors, interviewees, businesses and organisations may share links to publicly published BandarPenawar.com content through their own social media or communication channels.

Where appropriate, sharing should retain the original attribution and link to the original publication.
